If you don’t like sweets, you may like these. Or, if you want to curtail your intake of sweets for whatever reason, these may be a blessing. That’s not to say these are so bad you wouldn’t eat them. They’re actually good in their own way.

These are smallish cookies, about 2 inches diameter, that are basically dark chocolate chip cookies. They’re on the dry side as opposed to a chewy softer cookie. Being dry they’re a little crumbly. They’ll stay together but will produce small crumbs on your shirt, keyboard or desk when eaten. The crumbless approach would be to pop the whole cookie in the mouth at once. I prefer the crumbly nibbler approach – damn the keyboard.
The cookies themselves are not very sweet with just a hint of almond taste. The hint of almond is so little that it might be better to leave the word almond off the label. The dark chocolate chips are good, when found. As the cookies are small, the chocolate chips don’t find their way evenly from cookie to cookie. When taken as a whole, my preference would be to have more chocolate chips in general, even if they’re not equally divided between cookies. In comparison these are similar to Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies.
The really good thing about these is, personally I feel satisfied after eating 3 cookies. That’s about 140 calories. I’m not tempted to continue eating the rest of the container as might happen with other cookies. I can’t explain that. And yes, I like them.
At $3.99 per 13 ounce container they’re considerably costlier than a similar size Famous Amos box per a quick internet search.
